    AMSA is a broad-reaching organization of individuals that discovers, develops, and disseminates its collective meat science knowledge to provide leadership, education, and professional development. The mission incorporates the following concepts: Broad-reaching: AMSA's membership encompasses the the entire meat industry including red meat and poultry. Members are located in a number of countries in addition to the U.S. and represent industry, academia, government and other associations. Organization of individuals: The Association's members are individual meat scientists. AMSA is not a trade association, but works to meet the needs of its individual scientists. This differentiates AMSA from other organizations such as the American Meat Institute or the National Meat Association which are composed of company members. Collective meat science knowledge: AMSA incorporates expertise from traditional animal science and food science disciplines resulting in a more comprehensive approach to meat science than individuals can obtain through affiliations with groups like the Institute of Food Technologists or the American Society of Animal Scientists. Meat leadership, education and professional development: Our core strengths are information dissemination through publications, conferences and educational programs and professional development of our members. The Association's focus is not on lobbying for public policy development or other industry special interests.

  • American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE)   
    Welcome. The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) is both and educational and scientific organization that dedicates itself to the advancement of engineering in regards to agricultural, food, and biological systems. The 9,000 members of ASABE come from more than 100 countries.

  • British American Business Council of New England (BABCNE )   
    The British American Business Council of New England, Inc. (BABCNE) is a non-profit international business association with a membership of more than 100 New England-based companies and individuals involved in transatlantic trade. It was launched in September 1986 by HRH The Prince of Wales. The Council is dedicated to helping its members build and manage their businesses by providing them with introductions and referrals, marketing & networking opportunities and business intelligence through a variety of programs, trade services and publications. The programs range from events with distinguished speakers from government, industry and academia, to informational seminars on current business issues and international networking evenings. BABCNE is a founding member of the British American Business Council (BABC) network which consists of 32 business organizations located in the US and UK and with affiliates in Canada and Mexico. Its combined membership includes around 4,000 companies and individuals involved in international trade, and provides invaluable networking opportunities to the members of the various chapters.

  • British-American Business Council of Tampa Bay (BABC )   
    The British-American Business Council Tampa Bay (BABC Tampa Bay) was first incorporated in 1985 as the British-American Chamber of Comerce of Tampa Bay and is an affiliate member of the British-American Business Council (BABC), which represents more than 10,000 executives of 33 member organizations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The principle purpose is to promote trade and commerce between the United States and the United Kingdom. Locally, we represent a variety of companies and individuals who are either English establishing contacts, or setting up a business in the US -- or, Americans wishing to do business in the UK and/or attract inward investment.

  • College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida (CVMUFL )   
    The UF College of Veterinary Medicine is the state's only veterinary college. They offer comprehensive services to the public through teaching, research, extension and state-of-the-art patient care. Following graduation of its first class in 1980, the college has built on the university's reputation for excellence. Today we claim more than 2000 graduates of our professional (DVM) degree program. Our veterinary alumni are active throughout Florida, the United States and overseas in areas ranging from in-depth scientific research to traditional small and large animal practice, zoological and aquatic medicine, public health, epidemiology and the military. We pride ourselves in our commitment to advancing scientific medical knowledge. More than 199 individuals have completed either master of science (M.S.) or doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Veterinary Medical Sciences through our graduate studies program. These individuals are working in academia, in the biomedical sciences, in government and in industry to advance animal, human and environmental health.   • Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL )   
    Founded in 1938 and one of more than 100 affiliates of the National Urban League, the Greater Washington Urban League is a major civil rights and social services organization located in the District of Columbia. The League has nearly 70 years of experience in dealing effectively with a wide range of social and economic problems, and is governed by a 37-member Board of Directors composed of a cross-section of individuals from the Washington metropolitan area, and an Advisory Board that lends expertise and guidance to support the work of the agency. The mission of the League is "to increase the economic and political empowerment of African Americans and other minorities and to help all Americans share equally in the responsibilities and rewards of full citizenship." To accomplish its mission, the League uses the tools and methods of social work, economics, law and other disciplines to bring about equal opportunities and equal access to African Americans and minorities in the Washington metropolitan area. This new decade and century see the Greater Washington Urban League continuing an ongoing partnership with major institutions in both the public and private sectors to alleviate the hardships experienced by our constituents. Such partnerships also provide new avenues for our constituents to enter into the economic mainstream. Base support is provided by various private funding sources and the League also has contracts with federal and local government agencies to conduct specially-funded programs. Although many of our programs are government funded, the League continually seeks creative ways in which to involve the private sector and community groups in joint programmatic ventures.

  • Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA )   
    The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association is a non-profit organization providing services to its members in the areas of continuing education, advocacy on public policy matters, and access to variety of professional resources. The OVMA represents over 2,400 veterinarians practicing in various fields and specialties. The organization has been serving its members and the public since 1884. The OVMA is governed by a twenty-eight member Board of Trustees. The work of the Board and its volunteer committees is guided by a Strategic plan and the organization's By-Laws. An organization dedicated to the advancement of its members, animal health, and the important role animals play in our lives, the OVMA's core purpose is to: Foster life-long learning, stewardship, compassion and community in veterinary medicine.

  • Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association (OKVMA)   
    The Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) is a professional trade organization for veterinarians. The association was formed in 1907 and incorporated in 1934. The membership of the association is composed of over 1,000 individual Oklahoma veterinarians, Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary medicine faculty, veterinary students, out-of-state veterinarians, and allied members. Member veterinarians enjoy many benefits of belonging to the OVMA. They are bound to the common goals of animal welfare and professionalism. Every year, each veterinarian licensed in Oklahoma must obtain 20 hours of continuing education to maintain their license to practice veterinary medicine in Oklahoma. The OVMA is a source for their education.

    SUNY Delhi, founded in 1913, is a thriving state institution that now serves over 3,000 students.     The Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) was organized in 1903 and continues to operate as a nonprofit organization under the laws of the state of Texas. The purpose of TVMA is to support veterinarians as they practice the art and science of veterinary medicine in Texas. TVMA is owned by its members who pay dues and use our products, programs and services. These member-owners currently number over 3500 licensed veterinarians practicing throughout the state of Texas. Today, TVMA is one of the largest state veterinary medical associations in the nation and is recognized for its leadership on important issues, innovative solutions and effective representation. The excellence of its educational programs, publications and legislative efforts has fostered an outstanding reputation among veterinarians and sister associations across the country.

  • University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine (UGACVM )   
    The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. The college benefits pets and their owners, food-producing animals, and wildlife by offering the highest quality hospital and diagnostic laboratory services. Equipped with the most technologically advanced facilities located on a university campus, the college is dedicated to safeguarding public health by studying emerging infectious diseases that affect both animal and human health. The college enrolls 96 students each fall out of more than 500 who apply. It has more than 130 faculty members.

  • University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine (UMCVM )   
    The MU College of Veterinary Medicine has several foci of strength. One is the unique clinical curriculum. The curriculum in the last two years requires six continuous weeks in each of seven clinical specialties. Teaching is done in a form of apprenticeship with as much pragmatic involvement as possible in the Teaching Hospital. The design of teaching within blocks is highly flexible and permits frequent adaptation and improvement. Graduates are offered an average of nearly three jobs each.

Opportunities to understand the relationship of veterinary medicine to public health concerns. The recognition of the importance of lifelong learning. The DVM degree offers the graduate many professional career options including opportunities within private practice, academics, research, industry, the armed forces, government services and others.
