As a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional organization, the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) focuses on enhancing knowledge and expertise through a neutral forum for more than 9000 environmental professionals in 65 countries. In addition, the A&WMA works to promote responsibility and effective decision making in organizations for the global environment that will benefit society.

American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEE)
Founded in 1955, The American Academy of Environmental Engineers is dedicated to excellence in the practice of environmental engineering to ensure the public health, safety, and welfare to enable humankind to co-exist in harmony with nature.
The American Academy of Environmental Engineers is a group of highly qualified professional engineers who have imposed self-testing and review for entry qualification. Each Board Certified Environmental Engineer or Board Certified Environmental Engineering Member, have not only the standard prerequisites for specialty certification, but also has passed written and oral examinations and reviews by an admission panel of the Academy. The Academy's certification program is accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards.
The Academy is an active participant in the accreditation of environmental engineering curricula. Through this process, the Academy ensures that educational standards are responsive to the needs of the professional and that tomorrow's engineers will meet the needs of the profession.
The Academy further organizes multi-disciplinary teams of BCEEs and BCEEMs to participate in concept study groups. These groups seek solutions to major environmental problems. Once developed, the Academy provides these solutions to key policy makers in industry and government.
American Association of Railroad Superintendents (AARS)
Founded in 1881, the American Association of Railroad Superintendents serves the networking, education and development needs of railroad operations leadership and management of Class 1, regional and short lines, and passenger railroads as well as representatives of government and regulatory agencies.
AARS members gain the benefits of learning best practices, sharing insights and successes with peers, and expanding their network of colleagues in the railroad industry. The association also welcomes railroad suppliers as valued members and partners in the railroad community.
American Ceramic Society (ACerS)
Founded in 1898, The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) continues its century-old mission to serve the informational, educational, and professional needs of the international ceramics community.
More than 6,000 scientists, engineers, researchers, manufacturers, plant personnel, educators, students, marketing and sales professionals from more than 60 countries make up the members of this advanced organization. ACerS provides members and subscribers access to periodicals and books, meetings and expositions, and online technical information. American Chemical Society (ACS)

American Concrete Institute (ACI)
The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is a nonprofit technical and educational society organized in 1904 and is one of the world's leading authorities on concrete technology. ACI is a forum for the discussion of all matters related to concrete and the development of solutions to problems. ACI conducts this forum through conventions and meetings; the ACI Structural Journal, the ACI Materials Journal, Concrete International, and technical publications; chapter activities; and technical committee work. As its chartered objective states, its purpose is “to provide a comradeship in finding the best ways to do concrete work of all kinds and in spreading that knowledge.”
This implies a willingness on the part of each member to contribute from his or her training and knowledge to the benefit of the public at large. By maintaining a high standard of professional and technical ability in its committee memberships and in the authorship of papers and publications, as well as in local chapter programs, ACI has contributed to a detailed knowledge of materials and their resulting structures.
ACI publishes reliable information on concrete and its applications, conducts educational seminars, provides a standard certification program for the industry, provides local forums for discussion through the Chapter program, and encourages student involvement in the concrete field. Committee members involved with these activities meet at bi-annual conventions.

Welcome. The American Council of Civil Engineers (ACEC) engages in many engineering works to enhance and protect America’s Quality of Life. These works provide Americans clean drinking water, a healthy life, safe travel and the advantage of new technologies.

Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES )
In response to a manifest need to provide a society that gave equal status to representatives of both biomedical and engineering interests, the Biomedical Engineering Society was incorporated in Illinois on February 1, 1968. As stated in the Articles of Incorporation, and modified by approval of the Board of Directors in October, 2006, the purpose of the Society is: "To promote and enhance biomedical engineering knowledge worldwide and its utilization for the health and wellbeing of humankind."
Initially, the membership of the Society consisted of 171 Founding members and 89 Charter members. With the cooperation of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, the first Open Meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Society was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Atlantic City on April 17, 1968.
The first Annual Meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Society was held in Houston, November 18-20, 1968, in conjunction with the 21st Annual Conference on Engineering in Medicine and Biology.

This new decade and century see the Greater Washington Urban League continuing an ongoing partnership with major institutions in both the public and private sectors to alleviate the hardships experienced by our constituents. Such partnerships also provide new avenues for our constituents to enter into the economic mainstream. Base support is provided by various private funding sources and the League also has contracts with federal and local government agencies to conduct specially-funded programs. Although many of our programs are government funded, the League continually seeks creative ways in which to involve the private sector and community groups in joint programmatic ventures.

Southeast Stormwater Association (SESWA)
The Southeast Stormwater Association was created in response to the ever-increasing demand for information on stormwater management. Work with EPA Region IV and include the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. With a primary focus on services to stormwater professionals in city and county governments, membership is available to those in state, regional and local governments, the private sector, non-profit organizations and academia.

The Hong Kong Association of New York (HKANY )
Established in 1987, the Hong Kong Association of New York, Inc. is a 501(c) (6) non-profit organization. Its members represent major corporations, professional firms, financial and academic institutions, and small businesses. Individuals who have an affiliation with Hong Kong or who conduct business in or via Hong Kong are encouraged to join.
The Association affords opportunities for its members to network and strengthen business contacts. It organizes regular events such as breakfasts, luncheons and after-work meetings and networking events to enable members and their guests to interact with distinguished business people and senior government officials from both Hong Kong and the U.S. who share information and their perspectives on timely issues of importance related to Hong Kong, China and the Asia Pacific Region.
The HKANY currently has over 700 members and friends including individuals, law firms and corporations interested in economic, financial and legal trends affecting Hong Kong, the Pearl River Delta Region, China and Asia, in general. Our members follow the progress of matters such as the Pan-Pearl River Delta initiative to expand trade in nine provinces and two Special Administrative Regions which surround Hong Kong; private equity, venture investment and developments in the financial services sector in China for which Hong Kong is a major port of entry; the expansion of, and benefits derived from, the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement with China ("CEPA"); legal developments affecting business matters between Hong Kong and China as well as a variety of topics of current interest in the region.
The Optical Society (OSA)
Founded in 1916, the Optical Society of America (OSA) was organized to increase and diffuse the knowledge of optics, pure and applied; to promote the common interests of investigators of optical problems, of designers and of users of optical apparatus of all kinds; and to encourage cooperation among them. The purposes of the Society are scientific, technical and educational.
The Optical Society of America brings together optics and photonics scientists, engineers, educators, technicians and business leaders. OSA's membership totals more than 14,000 individuals from over 81 countries. Approximately 40% of the Society's members reside outside the United States.
The Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI)
Founded in 1937, The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc., is the trade association representing one of the largest manufacturing industries in the United States. SPI's members represent the entire plastics industry supply chain, including processors, machinery and equipment manufacturers and raw materials suppliers. The U.S. plastics industry employs 1.1 million workers and provides more than $379 billion in annual shipments.
Tucson Urban League, Inc. (TUL )
The Tucson Urban League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and was founded in 1971 in response to a significantly high unemployment rate among minorities in Tucson. A committee of businessmen from the Tucson Chamber of Commerce, led by Henry Quinto, organized this affiliate and for 35 years the Tucson Urban League has been a moving force in creating change for minorities.
Located in the Empowerment Zone, the League provides great opportunities to reinvest in Tucson. The Empowerment Zone is a mixture of tax, financing and work training incentives that are designed to revitalize our inner city. Federal tax incentives are now available to support local businesses and encourage the hiring of Zone residents. The federal tax incentives benefit businesses by improving the bottom line and benefit individuals by increasing job opportunities and income.

The Urban League of Central Carolinas is a multi-service, non-profit Agency, organized in 1978. Its mission is to promote financial stability among African-American families and others, and racial inclusion in our community. Our range of programs can benefit anyone in need of education, skills training, career development, employment services, and youth programs. We serve persons from all economic levels - from area professionals to those living within designated "fragile" and "at risk" neighborhoods. The Urban League has always been stalwarts for advocacy on behalf of its' constituency. We have something for most everyone. Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts (ULEM)
The Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts is located in Roxbury near a hub of college and individuals in need of our unique services. The League provides services that encompass the needs of disadvantaged children, parents, and adults seeking life skills for long term opportunities. The service offerings the League provides are different from traditional employment training programs because they focus on improving the individuals by building a strong foundation of self confidence, realistic capabilities, and self worth. The culture that the League has created allows individuals to participate collectively while expressing themselves individually in a safe and accepting manner.

Our mission is to assist African American and other disadvantaged urban residents in the achievement of social and economic equality.
Ensure that our children are well educated and equipped for economic self-reliance in the 21 st century by offering the best foundations for education and job skills possible. Help adults attain economic self-sufficiency through good jobs, home ownership, entrepreneurship and financial literacy by offering seminars, study groups, job networking, remedial skills training, and technology training. Protect civil rights by eradicating all barriers to equal participation in the economic and social mainstream of America by offering seminars, community outreach events, voter education, and civic action opportunities.
Improve the health of lower income communities by directing them to free and other health care and screening options.
Urban League of Greater Chattanooga (ULCHATT )
The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga is an affiliate of the National Urban League (NUL), the nation's oldest and largest community-based movement devoted to empowering African Americans and other underserved individuals to enter the economic and social mainstream. The Urban League movement was founded in 1910. The National Urban League, headquartered in New York City, spearheads our nonprofit, nonpartisan, community-based movement. The heart of the Urban League movement is the professionally staffed Urban League affiliates in over 100 cities in 34 states and the District of Columbia.
The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga is part of a $200 million national organization that serves over two million people annually. With a 90-year history of providing services, Urban Leagues have a $10 billion impact on the economy of the United States of America.
The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga, under the leadership of Warren E. Logan, Jr. has sought to emphasize greater reliance on the unique resources and strengths of the African-American community to find solutions to its own problems. To accomplish this, the League's approach has been to utilize fully the tools of advocacy, research, program service and systems change. The result has been an organization with strong roots in the community, focused on the social and educational development of youth, economic self-sufficiency and racial inclusion. The Urban League in Chattanooga, through its outreach programs, serves more than 1000 individuals each year.
Urban League of Greater Dallas and North Central Texas (ULGD )
Over the years the League has been in the forefront in its struggle to enable African Americans and other citizens to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. Its programs include employment, health, housing, education, technology training, ex-offender reentry program and seniors' services. Because of the League's efforts there have been many accomplishments including the following: founded and operated the first funded Sickle Cell Anemia Program; sponsored the first job and health fairs; organized the integration of Fair Park concessions; and is currently one of two HUD certified housing counseling agencies. The most memorable was the move to its permanent headquarters/technology center in 1999. With the opening of the new facility in the heart of Oakcliff, the League's vision "to be the leading community based organization devoted to enabling all citizens to enter and enhance their position in the economic and social mainstream" is becoming a reality. It now serves as the "hub" for providing the critical academic, technical and life skills for citizens to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Urban League of Greater New Orleans (ULNO )
In 1938 at the urging of negro businessmen and local religious leaders, the Council of Social Agencies, aided by Jesse O. Thomas, Southern Field Secretary for the National Urban League, founded the Urban League of Greater New Orleans. The conditions facing Negro New Orleanians mirrored those of other urban dwellers which propelled the newly formed group to advocate for better race relations which would be the foundation for improving the plight of Negroes economically and socially. The urban League would serve as a "clearing house" for the industrial, social, and general welfare problems of the Negro people.
Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh (ULPGH )
The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh was founded in 1918 with the shared National Urban League mission of enabling African-Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity and power, and civil rights. Today, the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh has become one of the most accomplished affiliates in the country, leading by example with a perfect 5 out of 5 on a recent performance review conducted by the National Urban League. The rating assessed three key criteria: organizational soundness, organizational vitality, and implementation of mission.
The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh is focused on serving African-American constituents and other minorities, but no one is ever turned away. Last fiscal year, the affiliate served over 36,000 individuals in Pittsburgh and the surrounding counties. As the largest comprehensive social service/civil rights organization in Southwestern Pennsylvania, the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh provides services in the areas of education, health advocacy, housing, early childhood and youth development, hunger services, employment and career training and counseling, and economic empowerment. For example, between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007, the agency served more than 2,500 youth through its Education and Youth Development Department, more than 5,000 adults through its Employment Training and Economic Empowerment Department, more than 4,600 children, youth and adults through the Family Growth and Child Development Department, and more than 24,000 people through the Housing Department and Hunger Services Program.
Two of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh’s current programs – Operation Home and Hunger Services – provide outreach to residents of Allegheny, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland Counties. Operation Home offers first time homebuyers classes to prepare themselves to qualify for home buying. Hunger Services provides counseling and referral to citizens who are eligible to receive food stamps but who may not realize it.
Urban League of Philadelphia (ULP)
Established in 1910, the National Urban League is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Today, the National Urban League spearheads the non-partisan efforts of its 103 local affiliates that provide services to more than 2 million people nationwide. Since 1917, the Urban League of Philadelphia, as part of this national network, provides direct services, research and policy advocacy to help individuals and communities reach their fullest potential.

The Virginia Society of Professional Engineers (VSPE) is a state level organization of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). It serves the needs of over 1,100 Professional Engineers from across Virginia who are in private practice, government, construction, industry, and education.
Recognizing that service to the public, to the state, and to the profession is a fundamental obligation of the professional engineer, VSPE dedicates itself to the promotion and improvement of the profession of engineering as a social and economic influence vital to the welfare of the community, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the United States of America.
NSPE/VSPE promotes engineering licensure and ethics, advocates and protects PEs' legal rights at the national and state levels, and provides continuing education opportunities.
Washington International Trade Association (WITA )
The Washington International Trade Association (WITA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to providing a neutral forum in the nation's capital for the open and robust discussion of international trade policy and related issues. WITA is widely considered Washington's premier trade forum.
WITA was founded in 1982 by a group of Washington area trade professionals who found a need to stay abreast of developments in trade policy, make and maintain professional contacts, and exchange information and ideas concerning world trade and international business opportunities.
Today, WITA's steadily growing membership is over 1,500 strong, including more than 120 corporate sponsors and group memberships. WITA keeps its members informed through an extensive series of programs and special events (such as our Annual Awards Dinner and Congressional Trade Agenda program) that focus on the latest positions taken by the Administration and Congress on trade policy, rules and regulations governing international trade, views of US trade policy from abroad, current issues in trade, and the latest developments in the ever-changing trade landscape.
Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT)
The Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT), formerly known as the Texas Water Pollution Control Association (TWPCA), was founded by professionals in the field of water quality as a non-profit, educational organization. TWPCA was created in 1962 and was incorporated in February 1978. The name was changed to the Water Environment Association of Texas in 1994. The roots of WEAT go back even further to 1928. The names of the earlier organizations were Texas Section of the Southwest Water Works Association (1928-1947), Sewage Division of the Texas Water Works and Sewage Short School (1944-1947), and Sewage and Industrial Waste Section of the Texas Water and Sewage Works Association (1951-1961).

WEF is a not-for-profit, educational and technical organization with a strong history and reputation as being a definitive resource in water quality. Women in Aerospace (WIA)
Women in Aerospace (WIA) is dedicated to expanding women's opportunities for leadership and increasing their visibility in the aerospace community. Our membership, women and men, shares an interest in a broad spectrum of aerospace issues, including human space flight, aviation, remote sensing, satellite communications, robotic space exploration, and the policy issues surrounding these fields.
To facilitate discussion of issues facing women, as well as the aerospace industry as a whole, WIA organizes monthly programs in the Washington, DC area. Our member programming is geared towards audiences interested in a broad spectrum of aerospace issues, including human space flight, aviation, remote sensing, satellite communications, robotic space exploration, and the policy issues surrounding these fields. Featured speakers include senior representatives of the Administration, Congress, and Industry, including scientists, educators, and international aerospace experts.
